Dr. Whooley was born and raised in Rhode Island. She sought chiropractic as a profession because she wanted to correct the cause of the health problems rather than chasing the symptoms. This philosophy matched how she had been living her life and how she had imagined her future life as a doctor.
Dr. Whooley earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Merrimack College in North Andover, MA in 1994. She then earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and Doctor of Chiropractic from Logan College of Chiropractic in Chesterfield, MO in 1998. While she was a student at Logan, she was active in the Student Doctors’ Council, participated in a professional co-ed fraternity, and served as Vice President of her class.
After earning her Doctor of Chiropractic degree, Dr. Whooley began her career in Rhode Island where she worked in two family practice offices as well as a multidisciplinary clinic that specialized in chronic conditions, especially Fibromyalgia Syndrome. She served on the Chiropractic Society Board of RI as Secretary. She is now a member of the Florida Chiropractic Association and is a contributing author for the online magazine, Macaroni Kids.
She married in 2001 and had her first child in 2002. She joined Synergy Family Health in 2014 when she and her family moved to Oviedo, Florida to get away from the cold New England weather. Her husband, two sons and one daughter are much happier here in Florida enjoying the outdoors more than just a few months out of the year!
When Dr. Whooley is not at work, she enjoys family time at the local amusement parks, running, swimming, reading and exploring Florida. She has been a vegetarian since 1995 stating she is a master of making meatless chili, but her weakness is anything chocolate! Her favorite sports teams are the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. Her family has been completed by a Miniature Schnauzer named Hombre and a cat named Angel. Dr. Whooley is a certified scuba diver and has jumped out of an airplane…on purpose! She hopes to explore more of this country, especially the southwest, and tour Europe and Australia.
