Therapies: Purposes & Benefits

Chiropractic Adjustments: The goal of the adjustment is to correct your spinal subluxations, or misalignments, and their related components including pain and inflammation, restrictive motion, and muscle spasm. By removing pressure off the nervous system, the brain will be in a better position to communicate to all parts of the body and to restore health. This will ultimately help reconnect you to your God-given health potential.

Cervical (neck) traction: Cervical extension traction is utilized to help improve your posture, balance, coordination, as well as rehydrate and re-vitalize the discs in your neck and decrease inflammation and pain. The goal is to help restore the normal 43 degree curve in your neck and reduce any Forward Head Posture (FHP). This will ultimately allow your brain to communicate more efficiently with your body.

Wobble Chair: Wobble chair exercises will help improve your low back and pelvis range of motion as well as help strengthen your "core muscles." This will increase balance, posture, and coordination and restore the proper pumping of cerebrospinal fluid throughout the spinal column. This vital fluid bathes your entire nervous system which gets blocked due to subluxation. Nerves in this area affect the low back, the legs, bowel, bladder, and reproductive function.

Whole Body Vibration (WBV): WBV vibrates your entire body at a speed of 30 Hertz, or 30 times per second. The benefit of using WBV is to send a large number of signals to your brain telling it to memorize or "lock in" the new healthy position of your spine. This is designed to reinforce and enhance the correction. There is exciting research published to show how this therapy can also increase bone density, increase human growth hormones, decrease stress hormones, alleviate pain, and increase balance and coordination.

Home Exercises: Home exercises help to stretch and strengthen the muscles that hold your spine in place allowing your adjustments to "hold" longer. They provide a great way for you to play an active role in your health.

Spinal Weighting: Spinal weighting is the application of a specific amount of weight to various parts of your body in an effort to strengthen weak, imbalanced muscles in your spine. This helps to reinforce the adjustment.

Spinal Molding: Spinal molding consists of placing foam cushions under specific parts of your body to encourage the spine to "mold" your ligaments in the correct position while at rest at home.

Massage Therapy (MT): Massage therapy is used for the purpose of reducing muscular system pressure. Massage often helps alleviate pain, reduces inflammation, and increases range of motion. Massage enhances the chiropractic adjustments.

Spinal Decompression: Spinal decompression therapy is designed to help disc problems including bulging, herniated, or degenerated discs in the neck and low back. We utilize a computerized decompression table that gently helps heal the disc and allow the nerve to heal. This therapy has a very high success rate, especially when combined with corrective chiropractic care.

If you are not able to perform any of your recommended therapies on a particular day, it is your responsibility to let the Doctors and Spinal Technicians know. We want to make sure to make any necessary adjustments to your corrective care program.
